badw is a unique partnership that is the culmination of a many years-long friendship and working relationship between Youssef Barakat from the Alagat tribe, and Omar Samra. Through this project, they aim to bring the richness of the Bedouin culture, the tranquility of the desert, and the comfortable side of outdoor life all under one starry roof.

Omar Samra
Omar is a british-born Egyptian adventurer who began climbing at a young age. He gained prominence when he became the first Egyptian to climb Everest, the 7-Summits and ski to the North and South pole. In 2009, Omar founded Wild Guanabana, the Middle East's first hiking and climbing company. He considers Sinai as his home.

Youssef Barakat
Youssef hails from the Alagat tribe of Western Sinai. His family have been handling caravans and working in the guiding trade for generations. They are widely considered to be the protectors of the pharaonic temple of Sarabeet El Khadim, dedicated to the goddess Hathor. Youssef started working in tourism from a young age. His charisma and leadership skills have made him a favorite among his peers in the Sinai.
